IN HIS OWN WORDS:

During my years of schooling, I plan on continuing to spend a portion of my summers in Washington, D.C., interning for elected officials as I have done for the past two. While working in Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen’s office, I gained an immense appreciation for public service. Nothing was more rewarding than helping out constituents whether it be via mail, telephone or giving a tour of the Capitol. My long-term goal is to be elected to the United States House of Representatives and/or Senate. I hope to live a life where public service is the reason I get up in the morning. Public service is important in ensuring a respective community is represented well. During my tenure in these esteemed bodies, I hope to chair the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as I have a deep interest in public transportation and the airline industry.

Participating in the Broward County League of Cities Ambassador Program would present me with the unique opportunity to learn about the inner workings of local government. Working with esteemed Broward County officials would not only give me an idea of what a job in public service entails, but also the opportunity to converse with men and women that share my interest in serving the public interest. In addition, through my conversations with elected officials, I would learn about the issues affecting Broward County citizens, making me more aware of what is important to the community, thereby making me a better person and politician in the future.
