When Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Bobby DuBose was installed as President of the Broward League of Cities in May 2012, he chose “Together We Serve” as his platform and issued his Million Hour Volunteer Challenge, a call to action to individuals and organizations throughout Broward County to tally and log their service to others and reach one million hours over the course of a year.

Broward County residents, the business community and non-profit and faith-based organizations responded in a true demonstration of community spirit and far surpassed Commissioner DuBose’s goal by donating 3,674,016 hours of volunteer service! Thank you to everyone who participated.
